Leslie M. John

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service” (Romans 12:1)

“Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ”. (1 Peter 2:5)

While the sacrifices in the Old Testament were physical, the sacrifices in the New Testament are Spiritual.  : Lord Jesus Christ fulfilled the Law of Moses and became mediator between God and man.  His sacrifice entailed repenting sinner to be reconciled to God.

Although He was sinless, yet He became sin for us, in order that we by accepting His as our savior, and by believing in heart that God raised Him from the dead would receive everlasting life to be in heaven with Him forever and ever.

It pleased the Father to bruise Him on the cross in order to provide a way for sinner to be reconciled to Him. We were enemies of God dead in trespasses; but while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. His crucifixion would have been of no avail if He did not rise from the dead.  It is with boldness that can enter the presence of the Almighty God through the only mediator, who is Lord Jesus Christ, raised from the dead by God, on the third day  His body did not corrupt when He was in the tomb. He has provided several witnesses of His resurrection that we may believe.
