The study of the Bible needs special attention towards the way in which God dealt with mankind in different periods of time in different way. Unless we appreciate the way God dealt with the children of Israel and the way God is dealing with us today, we will not appreciate the Scriptures in their proper perspective. The Church is not Israel and Israel is not Church. This is to be borne in mind when we read the Scriptures.

God's dealing with Adam and Eve was direct. God walked with Adam and communed with him directly. But after Adam transgressed the commandment of God His dealings with mankind changed completely.

If we look at the different periods in the history of mankind we can clearly see that there are seven dispensations.

  1. Innocense   and Curse and the Salvation -- God said Adam "of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it" but the woman and Adam transgressed God's Command and they were punished.

  2. Conscience -- Man did evil in the sight of God and God punished mankind by Flood - It deals with the wickedness that prevaied during Noah's perid and God's decision to destroy the whole humanity except Noah and his family and male and female from every specimen from fowls, animals and reptiles.

  3. Human Government -- God asked Noah to go forth from the ark with every living thing that was with him that they breed abundantantly in the earth and be fruitful and multiply upon the earth, but man transgressed God's command that resulted in God confusing their languages. (Genesis 8:17)

  4. Promise - God gave promise to Abram who was blessed and his name was called Abraham. His posterity ended in Egypt.

  5. Law - God gave Ten Commandments to the children of Israel to observe, but they failed. Every violation needed sacrifice, but in Jesus one sacrifice fulfilled the Law.

  6. Grace After ascension of Jesus into heaven Holy Spirit came into this world and power came upon the disciples. They preached the Gospel first to the Jews, next to those in Judea and Samaria and then to the uttermost part of the earth. Apostle Paul was the minister of Gospel to the Gentiles. Now in this dispensation Grace alone saves a person.

  7. Millennial Kingdom and eternity thereafter -- After the Church is taken away to meet the Lord in the air, those left behind on the earth will face 'great tribulation' and all Jews will be saved. Jesus will literally set up a thousand year reign from the throne of David in Jerusalem. The new Jerusalem will come down from heaven for all those saved to dwell.

To get the basic idea about these seven dispensations please click on the links. They are in the form of devotionals.

The following verses are of great importance to study Dispensationalism. However, I would not personally encourage anyone to go to the extent of interpreting the Scriptures as Hyper-Dispensationalists do.

And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. (Acts 15:7)
And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; (2 Peter 3:15)

If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, today is the day of Salvation. Please accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, and your Lord, to receive everlasting life. Salvation is available freely for all who believe in Jesus Christ and confess his/her sins to Him, and accept Jesus Christ as his/her personal Savior and also acknowledge Him as his/her Lord. Today is the day of salvation. Please confess your sins to Jesus Christ and be blessed. Receive Salvation and eternal life. Jesus is the Way, the truth, and the life. If you confess your sins to Jesus, and express faith in your heart that he died for you sins and rose from the dead, accept Him as your personal savior, and acknowledge with your mouth that he is your Lord, you will also be received into His presence immediately after your days on this earth.

"We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord". (2 Corinthians 5:8)

Jesus Saves you
