WE ARE SAFE IN HIS HANDS
Psalm 95, verses 4 and 5, read, "In His hand are the deep places of the earth;
the heights of the hills are His also. The sea is His, for He made it; and His
hands formed the dry land."
Genesis 1st Chapter contains the details of God’s creation in his own way. This
is very interesting Chapter. Even though we read again and again it seems to us
that we are yet to find something from it. There have been discussions,
criticisms, and unbelief on what God did in his own way, yet the truth remains
that Scientific facts are no where near to convince any true Christian. Let us
pause for a moment and think of the human emotions, the feelings that we have at
ecstasy, mirth that we feel while being sad etc. These are simply inexplicable.
One may say some muscles move and some actions take place and so on, but for the
one who honors God any scientific explanation seems to be wanting. It is quite
amazing how the skin, tissues, arteries, veins, and several capillaries join to
their broken parts after the surgery is done by medical doctor! Who could
control the earthquakes, tsunamis? There is an important question God asks Job.
“Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if you have
understanding”. (Job 38:4)
May be scientists would assure us that nuclear-meltdowns can be controlled.
However, only time will tell the happenings that would come by in future.
For a believer in Christ it is so comforting to hope in God and take refuge in
Him. Heavens are his throne, earth is his footstool. Who can confine him to a
certain place?
God made heaven and the host therein; God made earth and all that is on it; God
made seas and all that is in them, and thus we see everything is/was made by Him
and everything is under His control. We find that extremely reassuring. After
all, if God is in control, that means we are not left alone on any dangerous
point. God is carefully maneuvering every event and circumstance. His hands
carefully hold all things together.
When God takes care of us, we encounter no danger! He sustains. Let us find
solace in the following words.
Psalm 3:5-6, he says: "I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the LORD sustained me.
I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people who have set themselves against
me all around."
The Psalmist acknowledges the almighty God’s help. God is the source that
provided all his needs; yes! The Lord God Himself. Do we have hesitation in
realizing that it is God who sustains us day and night?
When we look at the sky during nights we cannot but help but wonder at the
creation of God through the vastness of His universe. While astronauts and
cosmonauts did not find God in the space, we believers in Christ see God
everywhere in His creation. The Creator’s handiwork is clearly visible to the
eyes of faith. Would you Praise God for His creation? Would you praise the
creator instead of the creation?
"Behold, bless the LORD, all you servants of the LORD, who by night stand in the
house of the LORD! Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the LORD."
Psalm 134:1, 2
