Public Ministry of Jesus

Leslie M. John

Public Minstry of Jesus

"This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him". John 2:11

Jesus started his ministry with the miracle that he did in Cana of Galilee, where he manifested forth his glory in order that his disciples and others there would believe that he was the Messiah. Jesus came into this world relinquishing the glory that he had with the Father and took the form of man. While on this world he lived like an ordinary man, yet with full divine power. He did miracles that were unknown to the natives of Galilee, Nazareth, Capernaum and the surrounding areas. Very few miracles are only recorded in the Scriptures. Jesus did many miracles according to John 21:25 but very few are recorded that are sufficient for unbelievers to know about his power and glory that he had with the Father. In the miracle that Jesus did at Cana, where he turned water into wine, he manifested forth his glory. For the disciples, whom he called from the general and poor folk, to follow him, this miracle was a great consolation and rest on him in faith that he was the true Messiah. They believed on him. Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, where he saw two brothers; Simon called Peter and Andrew his brother, who were casting a net into the sea to catch fishes. Jesus asked them to follow him promising that he would make them fishers of men. (Matthew 4:18-20). They immediately left their nets and followed him. This miracle that Jesus did at Cana was the first one in his ministry when he was about thirty years of age.

Dear Friend,
Believe in Jesus that you may have eternal life.

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life”. John 5:24";
