THE JUDGMENT OF NATIONS

Leslie M. John

The Sheep and Goat Judgment

After Antichrist’s seven-year period is over Lord Jesus Christ descends and steps on the Mount of Olives. ”And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south”. (Zechariah 14:4)

All nations (gentiles) will be gathered unto Lord Jesus and He sits on the throne of glory. He will separate saved from the unsaved ones just as shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. (Ref. Matthew 25:32). These are not the ones who were already ‘caught up’ to be with the Lord for ever and ever at ‘rapture’. The word 'sheep' refers to the saved ones, who had their salvation during the period, when the Lord with His chaste bride is in the mid-air, and likewise the word 'goats' refers to the unsaved ones.

The King, who is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, will say unto those, who are on His right hand side, 'Come, ye blessed of my Father' and then, the King will say unto those, who are on his left hand side, 'Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for devil and his angels'.

The words of the King at this judgment are very sharp and shrewd. To those, who are on His right hand side, the King will say that when He was hungry they gave Him meat, and when He was thirsty they gave Him drink, and when he was a stranger they took care of Him; Naked, and they clothed Him, and when He was sick they visited Him, when He was in prison, they went to see Him.

The righteous on the right side of the King will be filled with the surprise and ask the King, when was He hungry, thirsty, naked, sick and in prison. ”And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me”. (Matthew 25:40)

Similarly, the King will say very sharp and shrewd words to those, who are on His left side, that they did not give Him food when He was hungry, that they did not give him water when He was thirsty, that they did not receive Him in when He was stranger, that they did not clothe him when He was naked, that they did not visit Him when He was sick, and that they did not minister unto Him when He was in prison. Those, whom the Word of God, calls as 'goats', (unsaved) ones, ask Him surprisingly, when they did not gave Him drink, food, and when was He naked that they did not clothe Him, and when was He stranger that they did not take Him in, and when He was sick that they did not minister unto Him, and when was in prison that they did not minister unto Him.

”Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me” (Matthew 25:45)

The blessings that the King shall give unto the righteous are that they will 'inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world' and the punishment the King renders unto those, who are not saved will be 'Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels'.
