God's Abundant Love
“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be
called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him
not” (1 John 3:1)
It is the abundant love that God bestowed upon us that we are called and made
sons of God and upon seeing Jesus we shall be like him as he is. The world does
not know this mystery, nor would it understand the love that God has bestowed
upon us to make sons of God. The reason is simple; it is because the world does
not know the God of gods, and the Lord of lords, and the King of kings, who
loved us and sent his one and only begotten Son that whosoever believes in him
shall not perish but have everlasting life.
There is a responsibility given to the children of God, who loved us, and
demands from us that we should lead a pure life even as he is pure. It is not
that we are infallible, and our salvation will be lost if we commit sins,
inadvertently, or deliberately, but the Word of God says that he who commits
sins is of the devil, because devil sinned from the beginning, and keeps
tempting the children of God, to fall into sins. Whosoever sins transgresses the
law, and the transgression of the law is Sin. Whosoever abides in the Lord, and
born-again does not sin, and whoever sins has not understood His love. Apostle
John exhorts that let no man deceive us about righteousness, but understand
clearly that he who does righteousness is righteous, even as the Lord is
righteous. It is not because of our good works or ability to save ourselves that
we are saved, but because Jesus paid price for our salvation that we are saved
and his righteousness is imputed to us.
There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that you are
a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that you do, except
God be with him.
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man
be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Nicodemus said unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the
second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man be born of water
and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit
is spirit. (John 3:1-6)
